What size flagpole do I need?
To determine the size of a flagpole you first need to decide where it will be located. Ideally it should be visible from all angles and not concealed by other structures. Once you have decided whether it will be ground or wall mounted. The next thing to consider is the size of the grounds or the building as this will help determine the height of the flagpole. For example, a large stadium will need a considerably larger flagpole than a one storey building. Although, you want your flagpole to identify your location, you do not want it to be overpowering or so small that it is not visible. The most favourable flagpoles that work in the majority of locations are 6 and 8 metres in length.

This guide suggests the height of a ground mounted flagpole to use at the front of different size buildings:
- 1-2 storey buildings – 6 metre.
- 3 storey buildings – 8 metre-10 metre.
- High rise blocks, stadiums and prestigious locations 12 metre.
- Large complexes which can been seen from a distance 20 metre.
