Hitchin Cricket Club, one of Hertfordshire’s oldest cricket grounds. It has recently undergone a major project to transform into a modern sports centre. Originally built in 1866 the club’s vision was to upgrade their facilities’ and grounds into a futuristic high-quality sports centre for club members and the wider community.
Renovation of club pavilion
The renovation included a new two-storey club pavilion, with catering facilities, bar, function room and a balcony overlooking a new all-weather hockey pitch. Plus, new changing rooms, an equipment store, cricket nets, and a new scoreboard. As part of the project the external grounds were renovated incorporating a new car park and subtle landscaping. This was to create a stylish surroundings to complement the newly modernised sports facilities.
As part of the project Ian Mills, Chairman of Hitchin Cricket Club, approached Flagpole Company to install a new flagpole to fly their club flag. Our experienced Flagpole Company experts offered advice on the size of the flagpole. In addition they suggested the ideal position of the new flagpole so the location of the club is visible to visitors. Once planning permission was approved our skilled engineer visited the site completing the installation, enhancing the appearance of the new facilities and making it a point of pride for the local community.
